Matthew

  1. 5:48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
  2. I Peter

  3. 1:16  Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
  4. Matthew

  5. 5:13  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
  6. 14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
  7. 15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
  8. 16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
  9. 17  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
  10. 18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
  11. 19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
  12. 20  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
  13. 21  Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
  14. 22  But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
  15. 23  Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
  16. 24  Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
  17. 25  Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
  18. 26  Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
  19. 27  Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
  20. 28  But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
  21. 29  And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
  22. 30  And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
  23. 31  It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
  24. 32  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
  25. 33  Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
  26. 34  But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
  27. 35  Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
  28. 36  Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
  29. 37  But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
  30. 38  Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
  31. 39  But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
  32. 40  And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
  33. 41  And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
  34. 42  Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
  35. 43  Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
  36. 44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
  37. 45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
  38. 46  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
  39. 47  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
  40. 48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
  41. 6:25  Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
  42. 26  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
  43. 27  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
  44. 28  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
  45. 29  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
  46. 30  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
  47. Proverbs

  48. 1:10  My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
  49. 7:21  With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
  50. 22  He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
  51. 23  Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
  52. 13:20  He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
  53. Genesis

  54. 39:7  And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
  55. 8  But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
  56. 9  There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
  57. 10  And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
  58. 11  And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.
  59. 12  And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.
  60. 13  And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,
  61. Psalms

  62. 1:1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
  63. Romans

  64. 16:17  Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
  65. 18  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
  66. 19  For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
  67. Ephesians

  68. 5:1  Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
  69. 2  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
  70. 3  But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
  71. 4  Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
  72. 5  For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
  73. 6  Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
  74. 7  Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
  75. 8  For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
  76. 9  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
  77. 10  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
  78. 11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
  79. 12  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
  80. 13  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
  81. 14  Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
  82. 15  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
  83. 16  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
  84. 17  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
  85. 18  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
  86. 19  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
  87. 20  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
  88. 11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
  89. 12  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
  90. 13  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
  91. 14  Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
  92. 15  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
  93. 16  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
  94. 17  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
  95. 18  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
  96. 19  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
  97. 20  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
  98. Psalms

  99. 50:20  Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.
